Mobility scooter batteries work best when they are kept regularly charged and not left sitting flat for long periods. If your scooter is used only occasionally, it is still a good idea to keep the batteries charged and check them regularly.
Try to avoid running the batteries completely flat, and if the scooter is being stored for a while, like in during Adelaide’s winter months, make sure it is left with a good charge and give it a regular overnight charge at least once every 2-4 weeks.
If your scooter seems to be travelling less distance than usual, losing power under load or taking longer to charge, the batteries may be worth checking.
Scooter Care can test your batteries and charging systems and help determine whether replacement is actually required.
